Role: Web and Application Services Manager

As Web and Application services manager for Colonial Williamsburg, responsibilities included full oversight (production management, UI/UX direction and approvals, management of back end CMS systems and server farm) for the history.org web property.

Goals and Involvement:

  • Keep visual brand styling intact. Provide guidance on style guide, UI/UX direction, visual hierarchy and development, process improvement
  • Team management of 10 direct reports supporting history.org and Colonial Williamsburg magazine
  • Cross team collaboration/management throughout Colonial Williamsburg foundation divisions/departments content integration into history.org

Hero banner oversight: Depending on the week, the history.org homepage would feature 3-6 rotating hero images, when clicked, would send users to fresh and insightful information about the Colonial Williamsburg educational experience.

Integration of contrasting sections into History.org: Provided oversight and management of UI integration of new sections into the history.org web property. This would include review of taxonomy, content to be used in section, as well as approvals on designs prior to client review/final approvals.
