Role: Manager, Web (UX) and Application Services

It was always a busy time at CW. My responsibilities included full oversight (production management, UX design and development, management of back end CMS systems and server farm) for the history.org/colonialwilliamsburg.org web properties.

Goals and Involvement:

  • Keep Brand styling intact. Provide UX oversight on style guide, visual hierarchy and process improvement
  • Team management of 10 direct reports supporting history.org and Trend and Tradition magazine, as well as supporting point of service hardware/software across CW physical properties
  • Cross team collaboration/management throughout Colonial Williamsburg foundation divisions/departments respective to content integration into history.org web properties

Hero banner oversight: Depending on the week, the history.org homepage would feature 3-6 rotating hero images, and when clicked, would send users to fresh and insightful information about the Colonial Williamsburg educational experience.

Integration of contrasting sections into History.org: Provided oversight and management of UI integration of new sections into the history.org web property. This would include review of taxonomy, content to be used in sections, and all visual branding/integration into the web property.
