I had the privilege of working under his leadership and I attribute his coaching and influence to being one of the foundation blocks of where I am today in my career! He was by far one of the best managers I’ve ever had. He is deeply invested in his team! He leads with empathy, trust, and he genuinely cares about helping people grow in their careers.

On top of that, he has an exceptional eye for user experience and consistently champions thoughtful, user-centered design in the work he oversees.

Any team would be lucky to have a UX leader who not only delivers strong product outcomes, but also builds happy, motivated, and high-performing teams.

As I worked under James as a design applications analyst and him as my design manager, he always had the best interest of the team. He not only worked with us as our manager, but also as a mentor. He does not micromanage, which I absolutely love because he allows you to hold your own self accountable, as a manager should. He always has quick responses when it comes to his employees questions and needs whether it’s benefits related, work related, or even for personal life advice.

James pushes his employees to grow within their career and as an individual. He is very easy to talk to and you can genuinely tell that he cares personally about his teammates. I had the pleasure of working with James on the Cotiviti Employee Committee. Jim was one of two co-leads for this highly active employee engagement team. As the committee’s executive sponsor, I regularly worked with Jim on a variety of projects. James was instrumental in taking the Committee from its initial mandate as a party planning group to an integrated element of the employee experience. During Cotiviti’s COVID-19 response, the Cotiviti Employee Committee quickly reorganized itself to offer connection and engagement activities and events through virtual channels. Jim was always full of ideas, relentlessly encouraging, and passionate about bringing the employees of Cotiviti together.
